Karon Luddy is an Adjunct Professor of English at UNC-Charlotte, now currently on leave. She was educated at UNC-Charlotte and Queens University, where she received an MFA in Creative Writing. Karon has just completed her first young adult novel,
SpellDown, published by Simon & Schuster and released in January 2007. She is the author of five short stories: "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," "Your Cheating Heart," "Ticket to Ride," "And Here's to You, Mrs. Robinson," and "Primal Urge," which have been published in
The South Carolina Review,
Timber Creek Review, and the anthology
One Paycheck Away published by Main Street Rag Publishing Company. She is the author of several published poems, including: "Flirting," "Old Girl," "The Final Ache Regarding Her," "Mama," "Family Reunion," "Where Zinnias Used to Grow," and "Poet." She has written several essays: "At Least I'm not a Dancer," published in
The South Carolina Review, and "Confessions of a Former Teenager," published in
TANGENTS Magazine. Karon was also featured in the
Charlotte Observer, January 21, 2007.
